Mount Buller is one of our favourite alpine locations to run Howling Huskys sled dog tours. Just under 3 hours from Melbourne, it’s the perfect destination to jump into a sled and glide through snow-covered alpine trails with our incredible team of huskies. Surrounded by stunning high-country scenery, Mount Buller offers a truly unforgettable husky experience, whether you’re here for a ride, to meet the dogs, or simply to soak up the winter atmosphere.

Please Note: There is a combined weight limit of 160kg per sled for all sled tours.

Please Note: Our tours are run as informative, enjoyable and scenic activities. Although our dogs are amazing at what they do, we train them as freight-pulling dogs - not racing dogs. This means they’re extremely fit and extremely strong, but not extremely fast. We DO NOT offer adrenaline rides.

Mountain View Run
30 Minutes - From $350

Come jump in a sled with a team of Howling Huskys for a tour you’ll never forget. This tour takes you on a scenic dash through the alpine trails of Mount Buller with one of our experienced mushers and a strong team of roughly eight huskies.

This experience includes approximately 15–20 minutes per sled ride, followed by 10–15 minutes of pat ’n’ play, where you can meet the dogs, take photos, and learn more about the team.

Harnessed Dreams Tour
1 Hour - From $600

Get ready for a tail wagging good time as you find magic around every corner on the looped trails of Mount Baw Baw. The dog's excitement is contagious as you dash through the snow, so snuggle up and get ready to learn all about the history of the sport, linage of the dogs and the ultimate bond between man and their best friends.

Journey upwards to discover remarkable views of untouched beauty then under archways of painted snow gums.

If you’re feeling brave your experienced musher will let you have a go at driving! Our dogs are sure to make memories so finish the tour off with a pat and play to say thank you.
This includes around 1 hour sled ride time and then followed with around 15 mins pat 'n’ play time with our huskies.

Snowy Express Family Tour
1 hour 15 minutes - From $675

Hear the excitement of the dogs build as they get ready to take you (and your family) exploring around Mount Buller! Jump in the sled and learn about the team of Howling Huskys you have running with you, as our experienced musher educates you on the history and tradition of sled dogs. Along the way, take in the amazing scenery and then complete your tour with cuddles, pats and lots of photos.

This tour comprises of 2 separate rides, one after another, for 1 adult and 1 child at a time. Includes around 15/20 mins per sled ride followed with family pictures and 10/15 mins pat 'n' play at the end.

Pat ‘n’ Play 15 Minutes - $20pp

Sled Dog rides are not always for everyone but coming and meeting the team can be a whole lot of fun on its own.

THIS IS INCLUDED IN ALL TOUR BOOKINGS. IF YOU BOOK A TOUR THERE IS NO NEED TO BOOK THIS.

Come down to our Husky Shop and meet the team! Whether they’re hanging around waiting for their turn to run or relaxing after a big adventure, our dogs love attention. Some are playful and cheeky, while others are irresistibly cuddly.

When you visit, you’ll be introduced to the team and are welcome to take photos along the way. Depending on the day’s sled bookings, you may see up to 20 dogs at a time!

Kids aged 3 and under are free but must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Please note: If snow conditions are low at Mount Buller, your tour may run on a four-wheeled cart instead of a sled.

We’ll notify you ahead of time and offer the option to go ahead with the cart tour or reschedule later in the 2026 season. If you choose not to participate, no refund will be issued. However, if rescheduling isn’t possible and we can’t accommodate your preferred date, a gift voucher (valid for 3 years) will be issued. For more details, please refer to our terms and conditions.

A 5% surcharge applies to all tours and experiences operating on Sundays and Public Holidays.
